Shihab suffering from Blood Cancer

August 2008 - Help Save Shihab. He is the only child in the family and it is unfortunate that this 7 year old child is in Singapore hospital is suffering from blood cancer. It has become an issue of life and death for Shihab and Just Help foundation is helping to support him though this tough time and make way to allow a moajr operation to take place. Bangladesh Cyclone SIDR

Summer floods kill hundreds and millions affected

July 2007.  Severe floods last month has caused havoc in the cities of Bangladesh. Hundreds have already died and the death toll rises slowly. Over 10,000 people  have been evacuated in Chittagong, the hardest hit area. Overall over 10 million people are affected by the summer floods.

 

Floods in Africa

September 2007, torrential downpours have caused major floods across Africa. According UN, at least 1.5 Million people have been affected by the floods across central and eastern Africa with Ghana and Uganda worse hit.

In Togo, more than 20,000 people left homeless and over 100,000 families have had their homes damaged. Cholera outbreaks in Sudan has already caused 70 deaths.

The weather forecast is set to get worse in the coming weeks and months.

 

Other News

Ethiopia on the verge of famine. It accused the world of awaiting to see deaths before acting. Appeals for food were made last November but the relief effort has just begun. Natural disasters have killed 110,000 people in the last two years. Millions have also lost their homes and livelihoods. The UN reports that the number of catastrophes has more than trebled over the last ten years. Aid workers are trying to do their best. The fight for survival continues. 

 

Floods in Ethiopia leaves thousands homeless.  Severe floods during the month of September 2007 has left thousands of people homeless. One of many worst hit areas is Afar region. 45,000 people have been affected by the floods in Gewane. Total of twelve villages have completely been flooded.
